Melissa Candelaria presents
Our Time in Times of War
May 8, 2019 @ 6:15pm

A viewing of the documentary will begin at 6:15pm and the presentation will start at 7pm.

Melissa Candelaria has lived and worked in Huntsville since 2011. She began her media career in Muskoka by working at a local radio station as the morning show co-host and reporter. In that time she began volunteering at YourTV Muskoka, hosting two monthly shows. In 2015, she moved on from radio to television with YourTV Muskoka full-time. Melissa has a passion for telling local stories. Working with YourTV Muskoka has enabled her to expand her story-telling across the district including Parry Sound.

Creating a Documentary: Melissa was given an opportunity to work on a special documentary to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War for YourTV Muskoka. Our Time in Times of War paints a picture of what Parry Sound was like during the war and how we remember today. It's a narrative brought to life with a mix of pictures, video and narration, along with interviews from the late John MacFie, Parry Sound High School teacher, Richard Lund and local student Taylor Judge. Melissa is grateful for all the support she received in making this project successful, especially the Museum on Tower Hill.
