Passed Down: Stories From Wasauksing
Help us kick off the 2020/2021 season with our first presenter, Waubgeshig Rice!
Waubgeshig Rice is a well-known author from Wasauksing First Nation, near Parry Sound. Rice is a graduate of Ryerson University's journalism program, and has worked at a variety of media organizations, including CBC News. Rice has published such works as Midnight Sweatlodge, Legacy, and national bestseller Moon of the Crusted Sow.
During this month's meeting, Rice will discuss how stories are passed down in Anishinaabe culture, how they are preserved, and how he has used his own stories & experiences of living on Wasauksing First Nation to write his books.
