Do you have what it takes to complete the mission?
This is a digital, touchless experience where teams of up to 6 individuals bring their own smart device (smart phone or tablet) to solve puzzles hidden throughout the gallery. Loosely based on true local events, the escape room will take you through the mysterious circumstances surrounding the construction of the Ottawa, Arnprior & Parry Sound Railway in the late 1800s.
The Story When the charter to construct the Parry Sound Colonization Road was handed over to Ottawa lumber baron, John Rudolphus Booth and the Ottawa Arnprior & Parry Sound Railway, a stipulation “that the railroad had to come to Georgian Bay within the Town of Parry Sound limits” was put in the transfer. The new agreement was recorded and signed off by all parties, and placed within a vault at the Parry Sound Lumber Company by Mr. McClelland in order to safe guard it. After Booth visited Parry Sound to view the potential site for his terminus, he decided that instead of having it within the town limits he would construct it at Depot Harbour on Parry Island.

The Escape
You have been hired by an unknown party to assist in the secret retrieval of a charter, which will allow J. R. Booth to build his terminus at Depot Harbour. If you are successful, you will be responsible for helping to create one of the fastest and shortest grain-carrying routes between the Atlantic Ocean and the West. This isn't your typical walk in the park - you will be faced with challenging puzzles along the way!
Will your team be able to solve the puzzles in under 1 hour?!
What You Will Need
- At least 1 smartphone or tablet per team (The Museum will provide the Wifi password upon arrival)
- Notepad and pencil (You may want to work out problems, so make sure to bring something to scribble on)
- Up to 6 family members or friends!
- Face mask
