Exploring Research Projects at the Museum

Research is consistently needed at the Museum to answer everyday questions, learn about new and old artifacts, develop exhibitions and complete research requests. This article will explore how staff conducted recent research projects, from finding obituaries to uncovering the history of local businesses.

Michaela Dickens

Acting Collections Supervisor [West Parry Sound Distrcit Museum]

Michaela Dickens is a graduate of Fleming College’s Museum Management and Curatorship program and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Anthropology from Saint Mary’s University.

She started at the Museum as a Collections Assistant at the Museum in September 2022 and is currently, the acting Collections Supervisor. She is responsible for the care of the collection; handling new acquisitions as they come in and ensuring each artifact is catalogued and stored to Museum standards. She also conducts research requests and develops exhibitions.
