Late in 2014, the museum received confirmation that we were one of six museums chosen to participate in the year-long RE-ORG program, a program designed by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Like many smaller institutions the Museum on Tower Hill is faced with storage situations that accumulate and worsen with time.
This project will see the entire Collection Room emptied, artifacts repacked and returned to the Collection Room. In addition to this, wheeled platforms to place large heavy objects on will be constructed and new shelves fitted into the existing units in order to increase storage capacity. The entire process will take about 5 days.
When the re-organization is completed the Museum will have a well organized Collection Storage and a designated area to work with the collection and a space to create new exhibits.
The Museum is seeking 10 individuals to help with the re-organization of the Collections Room. If you are available to participate in the project please apply by completing the form below and emailing it to manager@museumontowerhill.com
