Collections Assistant

1 Year Contract, 35 hours per week, as assigned

Under the direct supervision of the Curator/Manager and Collections Supervisor, the Collections Assistant will serve as a key team member and active participant in the process in relocating and cataloguing artifacts located in an off-site storage space.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Catalogue, arrange, describe and enter artifact information into collections management database,
• Conduct research on artifacts,
• Complete artifact condition reports,
• Complete activities that minimize physical deterioration and contribute to the preservation and longevity of the permanent collection,
• Assist with carrying out basic collection management procedures,
• Light housekeeping duties,
• Special projects as they arise.

Assets
• Familiar with a Museum setting
• Prior experience with Past Perfect, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office
