Join us in welcoming, Barbara Bell and Gwyneth Evans.
Barbara Bell and Gwyneth Evans from the Vernon Museum will delve into their archives and exploring the resources available in the Vernon Museum archives. The presentation will focus on their current project that is using family records from a prominent family in Vernon's history, the Jacques, to uncover anything related to the Jacques family members and the family business. Delving into the archives will lead to some interesting discoveries, such as, how Jacques Jewelers' is connected to Queen Elizabeth II.
Presenters
Barbara Bell, Archivist
Barbara Bell began working at the Vernon Museum in 1979 and developed the education programs for school presentations. Barbara worked as the Education Co-ordinator until 2005 when she was invited to step into the archivist position. She is now working part time, and is enjoying working as part of a team with Gwyn.
Gwyneth Evans, Head of Archives.
Gwyneth Evans began at the MAV as a Collections Intern in 2018. She moved into the archives department in 2022 and is excited to be working alongside Barbara Bell in exploring Vernons rich and varied history.
