Preserving the History of West Parry Sound District

The West Parry Sound District Museum's mission is to collect, preserve and share the West Parry Sound District's history and culture with our community and future generations. Through our exhibits, events, and educational programs, we aim to engage our community in the exploration and appreciation of our local heritage. Our museum is a place where the past comes to life and where visitors can immerse themselves in the stories that have shaped our district over the years.

Nadine Hammond

Curator/Manager

Nadine manages day to day operations of the Museum, handles the upkeep of the books, seeks out funding opportunities, promotes the growth of new community partnerships and seeks out new ones, oversees the development of new exhibits and marketing materials, coordinates volunteers and staff, supervises the opperation of the gift shop and oversees facility rentals.

Amy Sultana

Collections Supervisor

Amy is responsible for the care and preservation of the collection; handling new acquisitions as they come in and ensuring each artifact is catalogued and stored to Museum standards. Amy also conducts research requests, supervises volunteers and oversees facility rentals.

Michaela Dickens

Assistant Collections Supervisor

Michaela's creative vision adds a unique touch to our exhibits and events. She is responsible for the care of the collection; handling new acquisitions as they come in and ensuring each artifact is catalogued and stored to Museum standards. Michaela also conducts research requests, and develops exhibitions.

Riya Kansara

Communication Intern

Riya is responsible of the communications department; handling Social Media; Supervising and coordinating with the volunteers; managing the website; creating promotional campaigns for the new exhibitions; and communicating with customers.

Mardi Wareham

Gift Shop Attendant

Mardi sits at the reception desk, welcomes visitors and volunteers to the Museum, assists visitors in the gift shop, does inventory, helps to decorate the shop and answers visitor questions about the Museum and Parry Sound, offering engaging and informative experiences for all visitors.
