The Museum on Tower Hill successfully finished the re-organization of the Collection Room. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this transformation possible. Not only did volunteers play an integral role in physically transforming the Collection Storage, they made the subsequent inventory of the Collection Room possible.
As we push forward, the re-organization project has morphed into a series of initiatives and next steps. Among these are:
||Problem Artifacts: |
Our Collection Technician, Amy Sultana, has been tasked with resolving a variety of problems associated with over 500 artifacts that were found in the Collection Room. She has been steadily researching and resolving mysteries of long forgotten artifacts. Amy is currently seeking volunteers to help her with this project. For more information please email Amy at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are interested in learning more about the project please visit Amys Re-Org Blog.
The majority of our Collection Room has been inventoried but the location data still needs to be entered into our Collection Database. Since individual artifacts are constantly relocated keeping our Collection Database up to date will be a never ending venture. If you are up to the task please email email@example.com for more information.
||Other Inventory Projects: |
When we say that the majority of our Collection Room has been inventoried it means that staff and volunteers have recorded to paper many artifacts' locations. We still need to inventory the following items:
- Framed items,
- Research library,
- An extensive photograph collection.
We hope to start these inventory projects in the fall of 2016, to be part of the team please email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
New artifacts are donated to the Museum every month. Properly recording, documenting, and storing these new acquisitions is a job in itself. We are constantly looking for new volunteers to help processes new artifacts.
To be part of the team that composes our Collection Volunteers please email email@example.com to learn about how to submit your application.
